The American Council for Exercise commissioned a study at the University of Wisconsin in 2009, to find out just how effective Kettle Bell workouts are. The results may be staggering to our clients, but the HBF trainers know what a fabulous workout KBs are!
The findings of the study. Kettle Bells “One heck of a workout”:
During a Kettle bell workout, 20.2 calories were burned per minute, which is off the charts. That’s equivalent to running a 3 min 43 sec per kilometre pace. Researchers quoted “The only other thing I could find that burns that many calories is crosscountry skiing up hill at a fast pace.”
As for heart-rate data, the average HR during the kettlebell snatch workout was between 86 percent and 99 percent of the kettlebell HR max for all subjects
The kettlebell workout easily meets industry recommendations for improving aerobic capacity. “This is good news for people who are looking for a very good resistance-training workout that will also help them lose weight,” says Schnettler, researcher University of Wisconsin.
